Four Academics from Our University Named Among the “World’s Most Influential Scientists”

Four academics from our University were included in both the “Career-Long Impact” and “Single-Year Impact” categories of the 2025 “World’s Most Influential Scientists” list, prepared through the collaboration of Stanford University and Elsevier.

Based on Scopus data, the list takes into account indicators such as citation counts, h-index scores, and authorship positions in scientific publications. Identifying scientists who rank among the world’s top 2% in their respective research fields, the list included Prof. Dr. Bektaş Tepe, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Çakır, Prof. Dr. İrfan Deli, and the late Prof. Dr. Bilal Acemioğlu from our University in both categories.

Among our academics, Prof. Dr. Bektaş Tepe ranked within the top 0.4% worldwide in the field of Food Science, while Prof. Dr. Ahmet Çakır achieved the same distinction in Medicinal and Biomolecular Chemistry. The inclusion of Prof. Dr. Bilal Acemioğlu, who passed away in 2020, once again demonstrated the lasting impact of his contributions to the scientific community.

Rector Prof. Dr. Zekeriya Akman stated that these results are significant in terms of our University’s scientific research capacity and academic expertise, and congratulated the academics included in the list. Remembering the late Prof. Dr. Bilal Acemioğlu with mercy and respect for his valuable contributions to our University through his scientific work, Rector Akman stated that the University would continue to support research and scientific production.
