Memory of the Land: The Middle East – Ceramics” Event Held at Our University
The event titled “Memory of the Land: The Middle East – Ceramics” was organised in cooperation with our University’s Middle East Studies Application and Research Centre (KODAM) and the Middle East Studies Student Society.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ceren Yıldırım of Gaziantep University participated as the guest speaker. During the event, the historical development of ceramic art and the transformations it has undergone across different periods were discussed. Through the historical journey of ceramics from past to present, its place in culture, art, and collective memory was also examined.
In the artistic practice session of the programme, Gaziantep University students Semanur Çiçek and Emine Kevser Üstün met with participants and contributed to the hands-on activities.
The event concluded after bringing together the historical and cultural dimensions of ceramics with artistic practice.
