Rector Akman Attends the 2026–2027 Academic Year Opening Ceremony
Rector Akman Attends the 2026–2027 Academic Year Opening Ceremony
Rector Prof. Dr. Zekeriya Akman attended the 2026–2027 Higher Education Academic Year Opening Ceremony, held at the Beştepe National Congress and Culture Centre with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Rector Akman was accompanied at the ceremony by Prof. Dr. Filiz Uçan Türkmen, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vakkas Uluçay, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ali Nünükoğlu, and our students. The programme, which brought together members of the higher education community, was also attended by university rectors, academics, and students.
Addressing the participants at the ceremony, President Erdoğan wished the new academic year to be auspicious for the country and the nation. He expressed his hope for a productive academic year in which students would gain new knowledge and experience, academics would carry out new publications and research activities, and universities would build upon their achievements.
Emphasising the importance of producing knowledge and advancing science, President Erdoğan stated that every investment in education is an investment in people and in the future. He also referred to ongoing efforts to further develop education and research opportunities in higher education.
Following the programme, Rector Akman wished the new academic year to be beneficial for our University and the higher education community, stating that our University would continue to strengthen its activities in education, scientific research, and project development.
